Chris Nelson named to President's Council for the sixth yearChris Nelson with Spectrum Investment Center was selected as a member of the President's Council for Spectrum Financial Services, Inc. According to Robert C. Grow, Executive Vice President of Spectrum Investment Center in Omaha, this award is recognition of Nelson's "success as an investment professional and the contributions he makes to the success of his clients, colleagues and community." The President's Council is comprised of registered representatives who have excelled in their respective offices. As a member of the President's Council, Nelson will have an opportunity to provide input in a number of strategic areas. Due to his personal success and experience, Spectrum wants to utilize his expertise with a variety of issues. Chris Nelson is licensed in all areas of securities and insurance products including stocks, bonds, mutual funds, variable annuities, fixed annuities, life insurance and long-term care. His main office for Spectrum Investment Center is located inside Valley Bank and Trust Co. at 1701 First Avenue in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Biographical InformationChris Nelson was born in
Minnesota. He grew up on a dairy farm in LeRoy, MN where he attended grade
school and graduated from LeRoy-Ostrander High School in 1987. With all the
hard, laborious work involved with farm life, Chris was more than ready for
college and a career off the dairy farm. He received a Bachelor of Science
degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1992 where he was a
student-athlete for five years.
Some of the honors earned while attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln: First Team Academic
All Big Eight Conference, Big Eight/Phillips 66 Classroom Champion, National
Wrestling Coaches Association All-Academic Team, Team Captain – University of
Nebraska-Lincoln Wrestling Team, 2-Time NCAA Division One Wrestling
All-American, 1992 Big Eight Conference Wrestling Champion and Outstanding Big
Eight Conference Wrestler.
In the Spring of 1993, Chris taught mathematics at Lincoln Southeast High School, was
married to Holli Parish in Cozad, NE and together they moved to Mound, MN in the Summer of 1993
where Chris was a teacher and coach at Mound-Westonka High School for two years
and Delano High School for half of one year. Chris completed his Series 7 and
Series 63 securities license in January 1996 and resigned from teaching and
coaching and accepted the Investment Advisor position with Valley Bank and Trust
