Valley Bank and Trust Co. has been among the fastest growing banks in Western Nebraska since opening their doors in 1988. Originally known as Gering State Bank, President and CEO, John P. Stinner Sr., and a small group of investors founded the bank in Gering, Nebraska. It grew rapidly, and in 1997, the bank’s Board of Directors renamed the bank Valley Bank and Trust Co.
In 1999, Valley Bank and Trust Co. acquired three additional branches in the communities of Ogallala, Grant, and Wauneta, Nebraska. Valley Bank and Trust Co. expanded into the front range of Colorado in 2001. Valley Bank and Trust Co. dba Western States Bank, a branch of Valley Bank and Trust Co. has two locations in Fort Collins, and one branch in Loveland, Colorado.
